I’m interested in working culture and how improving this can significantly impact both our individual lives and society more broadly. My current research focuses on how psychological ownership develops and shapes persistence in PhD students. Working with a range of doctoral programmes globally, I plan to identify which antecedents predict positive psychological ownership trajectories. This will enable institutions to target interventions effectively and address modifiable factors that support doctoral success and well-being. In addition to conducting this research, I volunteer as a Trustee for local wellness charity Live Well North East.
Prior to conducting this research, I spent 17 years in the media industry specialising in digital communication where I supported a range of organisations, charities and entrepreneurs. Passionate about making working life work for everyone, I have also campaigned for, and championed, parental working rights and pay equality.
