Applications will be assessed by two NINE DTP Directors against the following criteria:

• Is the proposed activity/expenditure relevant to the student’s training needs or research programme?
• Is the proposed activity/expenditure good value for money (i.e. is there a less expensive alternative that delivers the same results)?
• Is the proposed activity/expenditure permissible under ESRC and NINE DTP rules?
• Is the proposed expenditure permissible under your university’s expenses policy (this differs from university to university)?
