Lamis Mousa Mohammed Qdemat: “Military Occupation, Water Security, and Human Health: A Study of Palestinian human rights across differentiated West Bank space”

In Students by ninedtp

My doctoral study critically examines the impact of Israeli military occupation on water access and human health in the Palestinian West Bank. My path to this area of interest stems from lived experience. I grew up in the West Bank and witnessed firsthand how water insecurity shapes daily life, family dynamics, and community health. This personal understanding, combined with my academic background in water management and governance, led me to pursue doctoral research that bridges hydro-politics, public health, and settler-colonial studies. My work aims to contribute to a decolonial analysis of water control in Palestine, centring the lived experiences of Palestinian communities.
