Description:
This research project is primarily an exercise in applied, policy-relevant normative political theory focusing on security, international conflict and the problem of ‘just war’. It looks at a range of armed non-state or quasi-state actors – including so-called rebels, insurgents, separatists, or warlords -, and what normative and strategic challenges exist in how these actors are financed, trained, armed or otherwise sponsored (either overtly or covertly).
