Description:
The intention of my study is to investigate the relationship between receptive prosody and reading abilities in children learning to read. There is a growing field of research investigating how the suprasegmental aspects of oral language influence and affect reading ability, and my project intends to help bolster research in the field. Furthermore, I intend to utilise eye-tracking technology to measure reading ability to gain insight in the cognitive processes of the child participants, in conjunction with the more standard behavioural tests in the field.
