I have studied at Northumbria University for 4 years, receiving first class honours in BSc Sport Coaching, and then distinction in MSc Sport Performance and Analysis. It was here where I found particular interest in the field of Sport Sociology, which lead me to complete my masters thesis in this field. ‘Chameleons of Confidence; navigating female sport coaches impression management’, was the completed project, which I then went on to present a poster at the CRiC Conference, 2023. I received an award for best poster at this international conference, and I am currently in the process of putting it through publication. It was throughout these years where It became apparent I had a love for research in the sport sociology domain, and found particular interest in political astuteness and its relation to sport coaches. This is what lead me to begin this PhD journey at Northumbria University through the NINE DTP scheme. I feel incredibly lucky to be working with such organisations, and for my PhD to be collaborating with the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). I am so excited for the journey ahead and to see my project come to life!
