Description | This methodology course provides a detailed introduction to Qualitative Longitudinal (QL) Research. It will establish the significance and value of dynamic approaches to social enquiry and show how time is not simply the medium through which a study is conducted, but a rich theoretical construct and topic of enquiry that drives the generation and analysis of data. The course will highlight the power of QL research to discern the factors that shape the life course, to understand how and why changes and continuities occur, for whom and under what circumstances.
The course will be tailored to the needs of doctoral researchers who are interested in dynamic approaches to social enquiry. Up to 25 places are available on a first come, first served basis. It is important that delegates are committed to attending the whole two days. The course will be delivered through a series of four lectures, four interactive workshops, and the provision of power point handouts and reading lists. A small amount of preparation will be needed for the final workshop. |
