Erin-Beth Nugent: “Making Professionals: Training regimes, everyday practices, and the experiences and perspectives of boys and their families in professional football academies”

In Students by General Account

My research is looking at the perspectives and experiences of football academy boys and their families regarding their journey through the system, and the impact it has on all those involved in the player production line. This follows on from my MA in Sociology, also completed at Newcastle university, which was a Foucauldian analysis of the football academy journey with professional and ex professional Premier league and championship footballers.
