My PhD will be looking at sex workers and intimate partner violence. It will look at the nature and extent of violence that occurs in the romantic relationships of sex workers, not client relationships. It aims to be able to get sex work, domestic violence, and women’s organisations to work together to help tackle and provide more help for victims of intimate partner violence who are sex workers and may not be able to get help through the state. This research will be carried out using a participatory action method to develop a mixed method study.
