Engaging with the UK Parliament through your Research

28th March 2019 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

This session gives an overview of how UK Parliament uses research, and covers ways to work with the institution including details on Select Committees, legislative scrutiny, the House of Commons and House of Lords libraries, and POST. It will include practical advice on how to find opportunities to engage and how to communicate your research at Parliament. You will also have the opportunity to think through the policy-relevance of your own research. The session will be delivered by Dr Sarah Foxen, Knowledge Exchange Manager at UK Parliament. You will leave with an understanding of how research is used in the UK Parliament, able to identify opportunities to feed in, and with an awareness of how to frame your research for UK Parliament.
