My PhD explores experiences of domestic violence and abuse help-seeking for young LGBTQ+ people. I use a Participatory Action Research approach with young LGBTQ+ people using both the online platform of Discord and in person meet ups to co-design and implement a research project exploring help-seeking experiences and co-creating action for change based on issues they deem important. I take a queer and intersectional feminist epistemological approach to research. Findings from this project seek to highlight its implications for young LGBTQ+ people’s help-seeking practices and the practitioners and domestic abuse support services who work with them.
